Great pizza on par with Johns Pizzeria in west village, and Grimaldis, only better decor, much cleaner, much better, faster, attentive, and friendlier service, and not NEARLY AS CRAMPED! Unlike johns and Grimaldi's, they also take plastic, so no last second runs to the ATM. The olives are awesome! Never seen Patsy's too crowded or too loud to actually have a conversation or be free from being knocked into every time the waitress walks by. Restrooms have always been clean and don't use those ridiculous air dryers (you know you hate em too!). Decent wine selection, several beers, and terrific tiramisu too. Good music and pleasant decor. My only gripe? No free refills on the sodas. Hmmmm...

My boyfriend and I decided to stop here for dinner before attending the Tribeca Film Festival. We walked inside and we must have waited for what appeared to be a few minutes before anyone greeted us. Actually, I stopped a waiter and asked him if we had to seat ourselves and that's when he offered us a table. Our waiter was alright. He failed to bring us bread like everyone else had on their table, but what can you do. The calzone we ordered was pretty good and very filling for the both of us. If I was to come back, I would try the pizza. It looked and smelled amazing. Overall, good quiet place to grab dinner.

You could do much worse than Patsy's pizza. I like how they use the fresh mozzarella so your pizza is not loaded with cheese. The small pizza is huge, more than enough for two people. And the service is friendly. Good spot to stop for dinner before going to the movies.

If you know me- you know I'm a sucker for good Italian food. Pasta should have been my first name and carbs should be my last name. I found out about Patsy's at work when my boss ordered from there (pizza party at work! best job ever!). The pizza was so incredible- I had to tell my boyfriend about it and I ended up taking him here for dinner. The arugula salad (which we ALWAYS make a point of ordering) is always fresh and the perfect start to our meal at Patsy's. My boyfriend ordered a pizza there and after his first bite, vowed never to go back to Ray's pizza ever again (even his coworkers switched over to Patsy's from Ray's after I sent over a pie to them). I usually order the Gemelli Arugula É Pollo, which is twisted pasta with arugula in a light tomato sauce with sliced chicken. It never fails to satisfy my insatiable appetite for pasta. The service is always great and the atmosphere is casual, but still appropriate for a nice dinner after work with your boyfriend :)

Tonight, sadly, I switched sides from "Patsy's Delivery Regular" to "Never again." Granted, things were moving slowly due to weather but I have seldom come across customer service this poor in 30 years in New York. 6:15--ordered pizza and 2 salads. 7:15--no sign of food, I call back and they tell me orders might take 2 hours, first I hear of this absurdity. I live 2 blocks away. I offered to pick up but I was told food would be out "witihin 10 minutes." 8:15--food delivered. Took at least 45 minutes for food to travel 2 blocks. And to top it all off, PIZZA WAS COLD! Manager Gabrielle tells me, when I call to complain, that she won't offer a credit tonight, because they're one of the few restaurants that are open (lie). I explain that they probably should not be open if it takes them 2 hours to deliver cold pizza. NEVER AGAIN. This was a lesson in horrible service from beginning to end, roughly a 3 hour experience by the time I got a hold of Gabrielle after being on hold for 7 minutes. STAY AWAY!

Apparently there are a couple of different "Patsy's" in NYC. I was confused about this, but some investigation has shed some light on the situation. Pasty's #1 is a standalone in the theatre district, founded by Pasquale "Patsy" Scognamillo. I'll have to try that sometime. The OTHER Patsy's (aka Patsy's #2, and the subject of this review) is a chain, of which this restaurant is a branch. The website reads as follows: "In the early 1900's, working in the Salumerias of Little Italy, Patsy Lancieri perfected New York Style Pizza. In 1933, he opens the city's first Pizzeria Restaurant on 118th Street and First Avenue, establishing himself as New York's foremost pizza baker and inspiring scores of imitators." So, if the above statement is true, my question is, why does your pizza suck such virulent rancid buffalo ass? One thing we know for sure is that crack didn't exist back in 1933, so it's not possible that Patsy #2 could have smoked some and then hallucinated, fabricated or otherwise concocted the untruths that are listed in that short paragraph. Let's take it point by point: 1."In the early 1900's, working in the Salumerias of Little Italy, Patsy Lancieri perfected New York Style Pizza." Patsy didn't perfect jack shanizzle, clearly, because the pizza is lousy. Tossing some fresh basil on a crappy pie with some fresh mozzarella does not a good pizza make. 2. "In 1933, he opens the city's first Pizzeria Restaurant on 118th Street and First Avenue..." This is an abject falsehood. Lombardi's opened in 1905. This is a disease of NY Pizza culture that has been going around for a long time, as evidenced by the whole "Ray's" pizza craze that happened in the 1980's. Bending, or even out and out fabricating the facts when it comes to pizza is a city-wide pastime. Clearly Patsy's #2 is no exception to this practice. 3. "...establishing himself as New York's foremost pizza baker and inspiring scores of imitators." More fabrications. Who the FAAAAHK would be imitating this pizza? Maybe California Pizza Kitchen (and that's being kind). No one who cares about NY pizza imitates this, that's for sure. Let's get to it: The pizza we ordered, sausage, mushrooms and peppers: 1. Was soggy. Yes, there are vegetables on it which can make a pizza a little on the wet side, but I could forgive that if not for the: 2. Seemingly completely lacked tomatoes/tomato sauce, widely considered to be an essential ingredient in NY pizza last I checked. I CHECKED RECENTLY, TOO. Sheesh. 3. Had far too much rind on the crust. Seriously, folks, that's ridiculous. Considering the heaping portions of custom ingredients in the center of the pie, couldn't they afford some sauce and to spread things out a bit? Boo. GO HOME. Seriously, slide me a few less sausage crumbles and add some sauce. Oh, and while we're on the subject, CRUMBLED sausage?? Ew. 3a. NO SAUCE on this pizza. 3b. See #2, above. 3c. See #'s 3a and 3b, above. 3d. Way to piss me off, k? 4. Did I mention there was NO SAUCE on this pizza? JAYZUS. 5. The crust was thick and completely uninspired. This is what happens when good pizza goes bad; they pretend they're serving you something gourmet, replete with the trimmings of fresh mozzarella and fresh basil, only to produce something that has more in common flavor-wise with cardboard. 6. I'm serious. This pizza was a travesty... and EXPENSIVE. $24 for a pizza. Ree-dic-yoo-luss (sic). I have an idea, go to Utrecht and buy some foam core and then eat it. It'll be as tasty and cheaper. 7. This is pizza made for tourists. That REALLY pisses me off, because there are hordes of midwesterners going home thinking they had REAL NY pizza. Actually, who cares? They think Domino's is pizza too. 8. Just sayin'. Bottom line is avoid Patsy's #2. I'd actually eaten here (at this specific branch, in fact) several years ago and my memory is that it was better then. Now it just blows serious NY pizza chunks. One star instead of two for claiming to be the inspiration for NY Pizza and lying about it. If the real Patsy is still around, he's sitting in the suburbs counting his money, not making pizza.

A pal of mine tells me Patsy's is an off-shoot of Grimaldi's fame. I still haven't sussed out the whole story but what i can tell you is this: they do New York pizza well and they deliver it promptly. What more do you need?

  • Carson Y.

3.5 is spot on. This place isn't premio at anything. it's a chain so you could only hold it to a certain standard. The pasta and service is below average. The bread bowl is actually not bad and the brick oven pizza is pretty good. Again, you shouldn't come here and expect too much, just be surprised that the pizza is actually half decent.

I've been meaning to join Yelp for ages, and I'm sorry to say that it's a need to write really negative review that finally prompted me to do it. We've been eating at Patsy's here in Chelsea for four years. The thin crust pizza is usually spot on and is a nice step up when you're looking for something a bit fancier than Ray's. We ordered this evening through seamless, and got our pizza in quite good time. That usually happens when you go ahead and tack on a nice $10 up front, like we usually do. We ordered half-and-half: pepperoni, onions and mushrooms on the boyfriend's side, mozzarella and sausage on mine. Pizza gets delivered, along with the side and soda we ordered and we're ready to rock. Boyfriend grabs a slice out of the box, takes a bite. Delicious. I grab a slice out, don't see any sausage, don't care, figure it's under the cheese, and take a bite. No sausage. Instead, sun-dried tomato. Not my fave. Usually we're pretty cool and were ready to roll with it, but it just didn't taste good. And I figured, after dropping over $50 on pizza, side and soda, it would be ok to call and ask for them to fix their mistake. Patsy's disagreed. I explained to the first guy I talked to what happened; he sounded surprised about there being a mistake, and then told me they couldn't fix it. My turn for surprise. "What do you mean you can't fix it?" Evidently, because bites had been taken (and on the boyfriend's side, a whole slice had been eaten), they couldn't bring us a new one and take the old one back. They were going to take the old one back? Evidently so. Not sure what they were planning to do with it, though. He gets the manager on the phone. She simply restates what the first guy said. She offers a credit for the next time we order. I told her that I would like the pizza that we paid for, and I'd like it tonight. Again, a firm "No. You already took a bite." I was so shocked and angry I could hardly speak (and when I did, I'll admit I was NOT polite to her). I thought this would be a 5-second phone call to fix a simple problem. After she had well and truly confirmed that they would most certainly not be fixing the problem, regardless of the four years we've been eating there and ordering from them, I told her we'd be having AmEx cancel the payment and we would never be eating there again. I'm still just shocked by the lack of customer service. Seriously, Patsy's? Is this how you do business? Very, very disappointed.

A brick-oven pizza served up hot, the Marguerite pizza was a hit with my vegetarian friends, and I certainly appreciated it, too, although felt it could have had a bit more basil on it. Size was about right to have one pizza for two people (we both eat a fair amount). Still, the overall ambience of being in a brick & mortar restaurant, with slightly small tables offset with raised pizza holders and bustling company was not bad at all.

This is the best pizza in town. They have a great marinara which in my opinion is the best way to judge a southern Italian restaurant ... Love you Patsy's !!

I really wanted to give this place four stars, but I thought the service was shoddy. This is a little restaurant right my hotel and I went to dine there by myself. I walk in and say. "Hi, just me," and the manager or someone seats me at a table and drops the menu. I was already debating whether or not to leave since all I really wanted was something simple and a little cheaper, but I told myself, "Meh, just eat here already." Haha. So I did. The server brought out some bread with olive oil to dip it in. I love bread and this was delicious. I ordered the pasta carbonara which was fettucine with chicken, mushrooms, and peas. [I know I should've ordered pizza, but I didn't want to eat it by myself!] It also came with bacon, but since I don't eat pork - no bacon, thanks. I thought this dish was very good and well done. The sauce was just right and there was enough chicken and mushrooms. I'm not big on peas - but I'll eat them. Throughout my meal, the server didn't come once to check up on me. I had to ask one of the bus boys who took my plates to ask the server for my bill and well, he didn't so I had to flag my server down. Now, I don't know if NYC restaurants are like that, but I've been to NYC two times before and I've never had bad service like that. I really enjoyed my meal, but the service was bad. So, three stars for this place only for the food - the service deserves zero. *check out my two pics*

For a decent meal a half hour before you're supposed to catch a movie, this is a good place to hit up. They cook your pizza pretty quickly, take it away quickly and throw a check your way once you're done chewing those last pieces of your crust. If you want legit good pizza, though, this is not the place to get it. The sauce itself isn't noteworthy, and the fact that I had to pile on red pepper flakes to up the flavor ante isn't a good sign.

A few of my friends wanted to come here to try out the pizza but I was a little iffy since I've had the Patsy's in Harlem but I came along anyway. And wow...what a difference. The pizza tasted great and for me its all about the crust...it was crisp and chewy, even the last cold slice was still good.

Fresh pizza, OH YES. Affordable, OH YES. Friendly and fast service, OH YES. Stumbled in here with my husband on a cold Wednesday night, we quickly ordered, our small customized pizza, about 8 medium-sized slices, came a little under 30 minutes, pepperoni, basil, & ricotta cheese, HOORAY! We topped it off with Sam Adams and Blue Moon on draft, everything was under $35 dollars. I like that.

Patsy's Margherita pizza is pretty tasty! I did have pizza here after working a 12 hour day eating nothing but gummy bears all day...but I have to say it wasn't bad! I ate 3 enormous slices all on my lonesome! We ordered delivery so I'm sure it tasted better since it wasn't sitting out all day like I bet it does when you order a slice in person. Had the spaghetti too...again, not bad...but then again, not great. Would recommend delivery if you live/work nearby.

I waited for two and half hours for a cold pizza and wrong pizza. When I called to report this, I was told by the manager Gariella, that she would NOT reimburse for cold pizza. I proceeded to tell her that it was wrong, and then scolded me, told me they were busy and hung up. The worst service ever.

This is average pizza at best, I heard so many good things about Patsy's over the years and maybe just this one wasn't good but the Pizza was so/so and the baked ziti was awful! Service was bad too! Stay away from the Patsy's on 23rd st!

The pizza here, either eating-in or for delivery, is a favorite neighborhood choice of mine. Is it as good as the top handful of New York Pizzerias? At the risk of angering Patsy fanatics, I'd say no. But the pizza is still delicious - and the other food (pasta, salads, garlic bread) isn't half bad either. Pizza is the clear highlight of a meal at Patsy's. Red Pizzas, White Pizzas, you name it - it's probably good here. I've really enjoyed pies with Roasted Peppers and Garlic; the Mozzarella is rich, and the crust chewy and well-blistered. In terms of non-veggie choices - while I don't eat pork, pepperoni-inclined friends have decribed their slices as as "well-spiced" and "addictive", so a vote of confidence for meat-lovers as well. Pizzas are brought out together and placed on top of ringed "holders" for the table to sample. Pasta is actually quite good here as well. Portions are huge (a small pasta and a large pizza could easily be enough for 3-4), so be wary of making your order a laundry list. Prices are great at Patsy's - at ~$15 for a pasta and ~$17 for a pizza, you can easily eat for ~$25-30 a person, including drinks. The service, unfortunately is not. Had to flag down the waitress on a couple of occassions (drink refill, reminder for olive oil and balsamic vinegar), and generally felt untended to during my meals. The bread served as an "amuse bouche" isn't too tasty as well - neither soft nor particularly crusty, just kind of "meh". All in all, a good place to take folks from out of town who are looking for the New York Pizza Experience. Won't break the bank, and the food is reliably good.

food is solid, but service is not. it is a new york chain and yes there are better pizzas. but this place is good for groups and the food is solid, but nothing to go crazy over. this location the service was pretty underwhelming especially given the amount of people were there at the time. this place is not bad, but by no means would i tell you you HAVE to try this place. hope this helps y'all.

    (3)
  • Veronica H.

The pizza was really good. Thin crust so I wouldnt reccomend getting a lot of toppings. You also can't get pizza by the slice so I'd go with 2 or 3 others and split a pie. The service sucked while I was there. Had to keep flagging down servers, no one ever checked on us.

  • Yari C.

Holy... what the. They called that pizza? I gave up my entitled third slice gladly - and I love pizza, heck, live for it and never do that!! But I was glad to when I ate pizza here. I put this with Grimaldi's as some of the worst pizza I've ever had. The dough was tough and it didn't have that "greasy pizza" quality I like, and I know my friends like. That's what makes pizza pizza! Similarly to Grimaldi's, this pizza tasted herbal. A little too heavy on the basil? Over seasoned sauce? I don't know what it was! Some people might see this as a positive. Others, like myself and my friends, saw this as pizza debauchery. Oh yeah, and your wimpy scattering of "fresh mozerella" was not even close to enough cheese. Not even close! And the cheese is personally my favorite part of the pizza. Thus making this "pizza" worthless. Shame on you Patsy's. I wish I'd known you were famous for your pasta before I paid 16 bucks for your slaughtering of pizza. However, I'll never try your pasta. I'd rather not go back here and relive the "pizza horror" memory. And in all honesty, the pizza pictures from here look amazing. They almost tempt me to go back and try again. But I'm writing this review to remind myself I'd just disappoint myself and waste my money. Hell no. Bottom line: If you're craving pizza - you like New York style, greasy, cheesy pizza? Don't come here. You like your fancy leaves and think pizza should have some chew? You'll love it here. Just know it's pizza debauchery.

Patsy's pizza is completely over rated in my opinion. Very sloppy and a bit too expensive for the mediocracy of it. Very disappointing.

My friend and I were catching a movie across the street and came here for a quick dinner. Service was excellent from the start. We had a mushroom pizza - Far far far from being good pizza. Crust was very crispy. The penne alla vodka was decadently creamly. Dinner rolls were not stale. I just am not that into this place.

This was a really cute little pizza. The taste wasn't bad. I paid $20 for a small pie. The waitstaff was very friendly despite the fact I went int here looking a hot mess. I have been thinking about having some again.

So - I get lunch from here, EVERY FRIDAY - not by choice, its Pizza day at work. So my stars are out of pure honesty. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. It is good oven baked pizza. But its' not the best in the world. Most of the times, we groan and complain - "ugh Pizza Friday's". You should try it..that's all. Most importantly, they do deliver our lunch on time.

The Pastas are all simply delicious. I/we are a family of true nyc foodies who rarely do take away because it's almost never good. When we order a variety of pasta and salad dishes for take out, they arrive piping hot, like someone just cooked them just for us and always make our family say "how good is this"? The papperdelle Toscana, the vodka sauce, you can't find one that isn't scrumptious. Okay feel good now that I shared as we have been ordering from here for years! Keep up the yummy work please.

This place wasn't too crowded so my friend and I had no problem getting a seat, much to the grumbling chagrin of our hostess when we requested one of the myriad booth seats; she definitely had a corn cob shoved up there. We were given menus but no bread, something every other table received; odd. Our waitress was nice enough but I couldn't help but feel annoyed at spending fifteen dollars for a pizza. We decided to top one half of the "small" pie with garlic *which cost an astronomical dollar extra,* and split a broccoli calzone, which reminded me too much like the types purchased in a crummy pizza joint. It came with a red sauce that tasted too sweet for my tastes, though for some reason I enjoyed dipping my pizza into it. For drinks, we each had unsweetened iced tea, perhaps my favorite part of meal. Though we weren't bothered much and allowed to talk for what seemed like an eternity, it became annoying when it took eons to receive the check. When I asked for a plastic bag to hold the doggy-boxes (from which ricotta grease was dripping), the hostess did so with a roll of the eyes, much to our annoyance. Though the food is fine and somewhat better than a regular pizza joint, I'd recommend going elsewhere for a more complete, satisfying experience.

This place gets a lot of hype and I'm not sure why. I've tried it several times and it's just OK. Maybe I've become a pizza snob since moving here but I can think of 3 other places that are WAY better than Patsy's... (Lombardis, Artichoke and Pomodoro..) Patsy's does not hold a candle to any of these.

I prefer the East Harlem version. Place has less variety than the East Harlem shop. But truthfully, this place is really unmemorable. It isn't bad but it isn't good either. I do like the warm decor inside, but I don't think I'll ever come back.

Quick overview: AMAZING pizza! GREAT location! Really NICE environment! === Food: My friend took me to Patsy's yesterday for lunch (she had been there before). We ordered the small pie with roasted peppers and prosciutto. It was the perfect size for two people. The roasted peppers were so tasty... sweet and a bit salty. The prosciutto wasn't soft or fatty... the pieces were quite meaty and extremely tasty and fresh! This brick oven pizza is wonderful (nice and thin with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese). Then, of course, there was the fresh Basil on top! Price: $23 total. Service: The waitress was very friendly. The service wasn't extremely fast... I'd say about 10-15 minutes (which goes very fast while catching-up with a close girlfriend)! Environment: It was a quiet, breezy afternoon and the place had 2 couples seated (besides us) and a large table for a birthday pizza party so there was no rush for the check. There is quite a bit of seating in this place though! They also open up the front area of the restaurant so the seating located in the front can feel the breeze from outside--SO nice! ===

Today turned out to be such a beautiful day, so when we stumbled across Patsy's with its front doors thrown open to the sunlight and breeze, we abandoned our plans of going across town and plopped down for a pizza. The small pizza is $15, and it was the perfect size for the 2 of us. I'm not a huge brick oven person, but it was really good. Thin, crisp crust, more than adequate mozzarella, overall nice flavor. I wouldn't go back specially, and the entrees and salads would lead to quite a pricier evening, but we enjoyed it. What can I say-- cheap date!

Used to love going to this place when I was a kid (not this location). It's still a pretty solid place that is nearby when I'm craving pizza and pasta. Usually me and my sister will come here or order a plain pizza and one of the creamy pasta dishes.

Average pizza, What i sort of expected since my last trip went to the university location. Ordered 2 large pies, a plain margherita and pepperoni with sausage. The Pepperoni with Sausage was soggy..ugh not to my liking, My brother loves this place and raves about how great it is..I'm not sure what he sees in this place, oh wells decent pizza but nothing outstanding..and probably better then anything I can get in Vancouver

I've been going to Patsy's on 23rd street for almost a decade. It's one of the original "Best" Pizza places and still respectable even during this "Mario Batali does Pizza" era. Casual, nice atmosphere with cozy lighting. Still delicious pizza. Decent, inexpensive table wines. Good place to go for a friendly, unpretentious, satisfying meal.

WORST service I have ever experienced. Waited 2.5 hours for my order, only to receive the wrong pizzas - which were soggy and hairy. And I had to pay $60 for them. The manager is also incompetent and unable to process simple orders.

  • jay w.

The pizza is very blah... the sauce is overly sweet, the toppings are pretty bland. The crust is pretty good. The service was pretty slow and not particularly friendly. The salads were the best part of the meal and the calamari were done pretty well. But given this place is a pizzeria, I'd hope for good pizza over good side dishes.

Eating pizza in NYC is dangerous. So many great places, can get addictive. Patsy's Chelsea is my favorite for delivery. Sauce sweet but not too sweet. Olive and pepperoni is the greatest.

Lately I'm never happy when I choose to eat out. I've been getting bad service, bland food and sickness from paying so much money for a crappy meal. I've decided the only surefire safe things to eat when dining out are burgers, pizza and falafel. On that note, I think Patsy's Pizzeria is precious. I always love my pizza here. Even if the place is packed to the roof I always get hot tasty pizza. Thats all. I love it.

We had the margherita pizza. Unfortunately, it was too dry. I have been to the other locations on the UES and UWS. The UES is still my fav. Plenty of flavor in every slice. ATTENTION UES Patsy's: Please teach your bro's on 23rd street how to make the pizza. Thanks. Service at all Patsy's is on the mark. As for the decor,..wait do you really care about the decor?? It's all about the food...right? Right.

This was the first place we ate at on our trip to New York. Excellent Brick oven pizza's. It was so good that we ended up getting 2 pizza's between 3 guys and finished it ALL. Great service. We'll be back on the next trip to NY. =)

Our pizza spot in the neighborhood. The service ranges from indifferent to clueless, but the pies are tasty, and the location is convenient (for those of us in w Chelsea)..so we'll keep going (or get it delivered) as long we reside in the area. A couple more pluses: they can handle large groups--they had a family group of ~20 seated the first time we went; and as another reviewer mentioned, if the weather is nice you can sit near the open windor doors in front, and watch 23rd St walk on by.

Is this what NYC pizza is all about? If it is - then pizza in NY is very disappointing = why dont you all come down to SF and try - Pizetta 211, Pizzaoilo, Delfina Pizza, Dopo, a16, and Little Star for a real pizza treat. Pizzas were good - but nothing made it really stand out.

  • Gina C.

We went in and actually ordered a meal, which I guess was our first mistake. I also wanted a glass of wine, which would be my second mistake. Pasta was gross. Bread was so stale it exploded when we tried to crack it open. My marinara sauce tasted like someone dropped a salt shaker in it. I'd stop in and grab a slice of pizza one day, but I would never give the restaurant portion another shot.

Patsy's... it's a chain NY pizza joint... It's not bad...it's not good, it's A-OK. haha, get it? cuz i gave it...mmm k. This place is good for groups i gotta say, other than that... just expect your average NY pizza joint, that's over priced. Not much else needs to be said. I'd rather go for a fresh 99 cent pizza.

My gf and I were visiting Chelsea Hotel (where Sid killed Nancy :-\ ) and we stopped by Patsy's Pizzeria for a quick bite afterward. I got the caprese appetizer and it was alright. She had pizza and that too was alllllllllllllllllllllllllll right. The best part of our lunch date here was meeting two older ladies who told us they had been good friends for over thirty years and have made it their annual tradition to meet up at least once in New York. Cheers to them, wherever they are.

I landed in the city last night and had a craving for some East Coast Italian food. Tonight I ordered in and gave Patsy''s a try, based on fellow Yelpers reviews for delivery in my area. The delivery service was quick, less than 30 minutes. My order consisted of Insalta Mista and Rigatonni. The salad was blah, nothing good about it. The Rigatonni was just ok. Honestly, my boyfriend makes WAY better meat sauce than Patsy's. If you are in the mood for good Italian, keep looking. Sorry Patsy.

You won't be disappointed with a pie at Patsy's. The pizza is thin, crisp and tasty. Is it my favorite brick oven pizza in NY? Probably not, but it's probably the best pie in the area and I go there without any hesitation. Now, as for the family size salads. Yah they're big, yah they're pretty good, but 17 bucks? C'mon, that's just crazy. So I'd save 17 dollars and consider the copious amounts of fresh basil on your pie as your salad. Wheelchair access: Very good. Easy in. Tables are good size and the aisles have decent room. Two bathrooms in back, one is large and accessible.

When i moved into the neighborhood this past summer i was very happy to find a Patsy's in the neighborhood. I often went to one on the east side when i was living there. Good pizza good service. However, better when eaten there - crust not as good when delivered.

Definitely not a slouch when it comes to pizza. Kills anything else you're going to find outside of Lombardi's, Fornino, Grimaldi's etc. pepperoni + onions = bff 4 lyfe.

We got here around 10 PM and Patsy's closes at 11 PM, that's an entire hour. I really don't think there was any need for us to be rushed the way we were at first. The waitress reluctantly seated us, and then asked if we were ready to order, literally, one minute after giving us the menus. We asked her to return in 5 minutes, but she was back a minute later. Good thing we asked for another server, because we didn't want to be rushed. Anywho, we ordered a mushroom and pepperoni pizza, which was actually not bad at all, and pretty big though Richard B. seemed to disagree. It came pretty fast too, which was good since we were starving.

This weekend I visited my parents in Maryland, and like every time before, it made me appreciate NYC and NY pizza. It doesn't matter if you go here or chose to have your pizza delivered, Patsy's always serves an amazing pie. Thin, crispy, plenty of sauce (which is very important to me) and fresh mozzarella! I love this place!! Nothing like a large pepperoni and mushroom pie, when you can't decide what to have for dinner. OMG! I'm starving! Where's the phone?

I went here in a lonely business trip just absolutely desperate for some real and wonderful pizza (I live in Chicago). And, they totally came through for me. I ordered a mozzarella and tomato pizza in a small size, which is supposed to serve two hungry people, and ate it all by myself. I wish you existed in Chicago but I think there is some kind of ban on any non-Chicago style pizza in that city... Thank you Patsy's!

I LOVE PATSY'S! I don't care that it's a chain, I love everything about it. The pizza is thin crusted, cheesy and tasty. The pastas are filling and DELICIOUS (esp the penne with vodka which is what I always get) and the rolls are so soft and fresh and often hot. And the portions are a healthy size (love that). The desserts are just ok but usually, I have no room for dessert after such a big heavy meal. The service is consistently good and the decor is casual, fun, lively. And this place is so cheap! I like to come here to carbo-load before a big run the next day. I tend to have great running days the next day after eating here the night before. I come here a lot which is rare for me since I don't like to make repeat visits to restaurants. It's just so good here everytime.

I'm not a NY pizza connoisseur, nor a Chicago pizza connoisseur. In fact, I don't know my pizza at all but I thought Patsy's was pretty tasty. Atmosphere was boring and non-descript, but I did enjoy that whiff of fresh pizza dough when I sat down. Pizza was good and greasy, pepperonis were mini, and the house wine was eh. I had a good meal but I didn't feel like I was getting anything special by being in NYC.

In the summertime you can sit facing the street at the open window doors that face out. A nice touch for a pizzeria that makes decent pizza, salads, and pasta dishes. Not too expensive or busy and the waiters aren't always completely fluent in english, but they'll always do their best at getting you what it is that you want. I've seen families dine here with high chairs at the table as well as casual dates with regular chairs. Both types seemed to go smoothly every time. If you can't get to Grimaldi's, John's, or Arturo's, try this place. It's a'ight.

Great pizza and I love the argula salad. The wine list leaves something to be desired, but being from SF that is a common finding here in NYC. The pasta is pretty good, but overall I am more a fan of the pizza. Casual and cheap which is just my speed. I like Lombardi's better, but it is inconveniently located, so we often end up at Patsy's. Another great pie from the city that never sleeps.

B list celebrity sighting- Charlotte from SNTC's favorite gay, forgot his name, but that was an interesting start. Ordered large vegetarian pizza, nothing special. Salad was just plain, dressing was bland, and to pay $18 for a large PLAIN salad was ridiculous. Plus points for the fried zucchini on top of garlic cream. YUM. Service was attentive and not overfriendly. I was disappointed when I had to cough up the cash though.

Completely dissatisfied with this place and my order. I put a delivery order in for a chicken parm about 7:30pm. Food finally arrived ice cold at 9:20pm. Mind you I'm less then a mile away so it's not like I'm in the suburbs of Long Island placing this order! The food may have faired better perhaps if it was served above room temperature. It was bland at best and not worth the overpriced amount of money with the nearly 2 hour wait. I've ordered from several places in the area with the food arriving hot and in a timely manner. Even with over a foot of snow on the ground, my order arrived on time and still hot. First and last time I place a delivery order with this place.

So... many of you who know me know that I talk up getting the pizza-by-the-slice setup at the Harlem location. It was around the corner from my first apartment in NYC. Usually when I worked a night, I would grab one (or three) of those on the way home. Their pizza is delicious. I'd also eaten at the Harlem restaurant, which I somehow found charming. It does seem like a place Tony Soprano would have brought Gloria Trillo during their sordid affair. I liked it there. The 23rd st. location lacks the charm of the Harlem one, and I think mainly because (if I'm not mistaken) East Harlem's was the very first one in the city. They still did a good job trying to make this one nice, but the openness of it just doesn't feel very intimate. It's sort of ironic that that is my complaint when this is the only place on my recent trip that I ate alone. I walked here from 46th & 10th. This is also after having not walked on the streets of NYC for over seven months. So I was tired. I was hungry. And... having the fondness for the aforementioned Harlem one, but no desire to go uptown on the east side, I came here. I got baked ziti and a side of sausage. The meal was pretty much Italian comfort food - they do a decent job, but it won't be the best meal you ever eat. I should have tried to get something more adventurous, but I was just so tired. It was kind of what I wanted, but I was somehow disappointed. If that makes sense. It was also fairly expensive for something so basic. The service was good. I think my waiter was late? So a girl sat me and helped me to start, then a dude was helping me at the end. Liked the girl much, much better. The dude waiter was too flustered in our every interaction. I was trying to read (they were actually very good about that), but seated a big family not too far away from me with a woman who was essentially screaming with every word (I think over the Sinatra-inspired music in the background). The whole experience just kind of ended up being "meh" - it may have been nicer with some company.

Oh god, the pressure of out-of-town guests asking "So where can we get really good New York pizza around here?" when you're in a touristy part of town! We ended up trying this place on instinct, and were very glad we did. Shared a large pizza with sausage & pepperoni, and it was truly superior. High-quality meats -- I'm not a pepperoni fan, but theirs won me over, big-time -- crisp crust, plentiful toppings & sauce, fed four. Also got goat cheese/beet/walnut salad, also good. Very pleasant service too. And walking distance from the High Line, so take note for when Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Jim come in from Cleveland!

Patsy's was one of those restaurants that I would look forward to going to at least twice a week, their food and service was always great. Not the case any more! Service was slow and inattentive and food pretty disappointing. Maybe it was an off day I will be back to give it another try.

Something about Chelsea pizzerias that celebrate their past, still make good pizza, but have lost that passion for execution. We're looking to find a great pizza place to be loyal with. We placed a seamless order at Patsy's, adding a meat topping to an existing pie. They carelessly charged us for it but didn't add it. I suppose they were busy and couldn't be bothered? #NOTWORTHLOYALTY. #PASIONLESSEXECUTION

Good, friendly service. Mediocre pizza. Definitely spend a few extra bucks and go to Prova where they use fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese and a yummy pizza sauce. This is a great place for kids who want shredded mozzarella from the corner store and a bland pizza sauce. When I was a particular kid, this would have been perfect. Maybe I'm more snooty now. This is Hershey's and I want Lindt.

We were a party of 12. No one received their meal at the same time. No Italian bread, no butter. Pasta was watery, and tasteless. Ordered coffee asked for half & half, they didn't have any. Coffee was warm, not hot. They had butter because I ordered shrimp scampi!!!! Will never go again. Very disappointed.

Sometimes restaurants are regarded with hushed respect in honor of their inexorable climb towards perfection, their love for their customers, their attention to detail, and their striving towards consistency. And then there's Patsy's. Pizza -- good. Baked ziti with a side of sausage? No thank you. The pizza we ordered was a white pie margherita combo, and it was really good. Not really good as in "Forget flying to Italy" good but solid. Not Lombardi's solid, mind you...but solid. The baked ziti with a side of sausage? Um, how about wet penne in a half-cheese ketchupy sauce that tasted like it came out of a can from aisle 4? How about sausage that didn't resemble anything taste-wise that contained pork, fennel or salt? How about, instead, chunked-up meat product in a bowl of tomato-paste-y-ketchup-y wetness, lukewarm at best and not worth bothering with at worst? Go for the pizza, run for the hills if they bring you pasta. BTW, on a side note, the Caesar salad for a family is enough to feed Rhode Island.

I really liked this pizza. Very clean with a hint of char on it from the coal oven. The mozzarella was excellent and the sauce was bright with the fresh basil. I'd definitely go back for this pizza. Didn't have anything else. Saw some other dishes go out but they looked pretty basic. Sticking to pizza here.

Customer service is HORRIBLE. I work in a customer service industry and I deal with a lot of people who work in hotels and restaurants and other service oriented venues. But, the service that I received on my first and ONLY trip to Patsy's was HORRIBLE. I am sure food is good - but, never tasted the pizza. Well, the service was so bad that they never got to my order. Two months ago (October 4) I walked by the place. The pizza looked great, made a mental note to try it out when in the neighbourhood. Today (November 15, 2014) I was in the mood for pizza and patsy's pizza came to mind. So, I invited a friend and we ventured down to 23rd street. It was an early dinner, we got there around 5 pm and were seated. I looked around and the pizza did look good. The waiter comes over and we place are orders. My friend orders a salad and pasta. I, of course, ordered a small pizza. My friend asked the waiter to bring his salad and pasta at the same time. Well, he bought out the salad first. Ok, that's fine. In the next 5 min the waiter brings out the pasta for my friend and he continues to tell me that, something was broken in the pizza oven so the pizza will be a while. I nodded to the waiter, "ok" I asked my friend to please eat before the pasta gets cold. In 5 minutes or so, I ask the waiter to let me know if they will be very long with the pizza. He tells me that "he will check". He comes back and says, "a little while longer". This is not an acceptable answer. But, I stay quiet. At this point, I see other patrons receive their food plates. So, again, I call over the waiter and ask him, "is it much longer, because my friend is almost done with his food and that if that is the case than I would have to leave and go somewhere else". He apologizes and says "would you like something else, like pasta" and of course my response was "no, I came for pizza and no, I don't want pasta". He goes over to talks to his manager, who btw, didn't even bother to come over or look at me. They had a chat of some sorts and she walks over to the kitchen. The waiter, kind of, makes a detour and swings by my table to tell me that the manager is going to speak to the kitchen. Then he proceeds to follow the manager to the kitchen. I am not sure what they talked about, but, one thing was for sure, there was NO pizza at my table. At this point this Is getting ridiculous - so I call the waiter and I tell me that I am going to cancel the order. He runs back to the manager and again the manager made NO effort to come over and talk to me. They discuss for for a bit and that was it. I was fuming at this point, I gave the waiter the universal sign of "I will take the check". He nods and proceeds to his register. When he comes over with the check he apologizes and proceeds to give me the check - I looked at him and said "this was the worst service I have ever received and that it was insult to injury that he was going to charge us for my friends food". At this point, he runs over to his manager again. The manager, once again, true to fashion, never even looks at me. They discuss and then he goes back to his register and finally comes over. This time with $6 dollars off the full price of my friends pasta and salad. He apologizes and says "this is the best I can do and that he spoke to his manager and she would not do anything else". My friend pays his bill and even leaves a tip for this HORRIBLE customer service. We left and of course, true to her managerial style, no sign of her. I am sure the food is good but the customer service is HORRIBLE. I would not go back to this place, if you paid me.

FOOD POISONING! My boyfriend got food poisoning from their sausage pizza this past winter (December 2013), and I ordered from the Murray Hill location about a month later (penne alla vodka) and got food poisoning as well. Should've known but I figured different location, different entree. Nope!! Have also read other reviews of people getting food poisoning from Patsy's. Just avoid it! The pizza is good but NOT worth the risk! Penne alla vodka tasted bad, but I was starving. (Obviously not worth it, either). Update!: Apparently I ordered from the Turtle Bay location in January, not Murray Hill (closed). I was staying in Murray Hill and just assumed it was in the neighborhood. Not that it really makes a difference.

We ordered linguini and clams in white wine and garlic and hated it, so we sent it back and they still charged us $40 for the entree. Not good. We paid for 2 dinners because we had to find somewhere else to have a good meal.

I did the whole "best pizza in ny" adventure over a few months and Patsy's is my winner. The crust is always so thin and crunchy but yet it has softness and life to it while the sauce has the perfect sweetness. The basil leaves give a fresh kick to every bite you - really need to try this pizza if you're a pizza lover. The pizza isn't just the attraction here, try the salad too. The dressing is incredible and will make any vege hater love greens. You're probably wondering why only 4 stars? Well, the service is bad. I've been to this location 3x now and the waitresses always suck. We also had to ask to be served bread.

I've walked past Patsy's a dozen times and I've definitely heard the name before so when I finally went for a casual dinner with an old friend I was looking forward to it. Maybe this is why I was so disappointed with the experience. Nothing about the meal was terrible- but nothing was exquistite either. The fired zucchini and eggplant were fine but I've had just as good in many takeout places. The pizza was also fine definitely nothing to write home about. Overall the food simply fell flat. None of the plates had a flavor that jumped out or gave you that warm feeling of full happiness we all look forward to when eating a meal. Lastly I NEED to mention the waiter who was so disengaged my friend and I just had to laugh. We asked which size pizza he would recommend for two people to share and he asked if we were hungry. We reply yeah...kinda. And he said it didn't matter the size and maybe we should just get the larger one "because it was only a few dollars extra anyway." We thought that was hilarious because honestly-- what kind of recommendation is that? He was better off not saying anything basically. We ended up getting the smaller pie and not even finishing it because it wasn't that exciting. I know that if a pizza is truly good I will devour it but if there are slices left sitting...my stomach knows enough to wait for something else. We left enough room for dessert but were so unenthused we ended up leaving for somewhere else. Overall Patsy's is clean, the food came relatively fast, and the dishes were hot so I don't feel like I can give it lower than a three. But the staff were working at an almost zombie-like level and the food itself left something to be desired. If you're hungry and need to eat go...if not there are plenty of other places in the area to take your appetite and money.

On our way to Yankee stadium we decided to swing by Patsys for lunch. Nice decor inside. Ambience is just right. Great staff, very efficent and so nice. We were the first one's here when they opened at 11:30 am. We had the nice complimentary bread with black peppers and olive oil on the side. I went to town with that stuff. My girl threw in some balsamic vinegarette on the bread as well which she enjoyed. My girl also ordered the ensalada de arugula! Which shes been craving since the last time we were here two years ago. I had it and i gotta hand it to Patsys, they know how to make it taste so good. It had sundried tomatoes as well which added to the flavor. Then my favorite part came! The Entree! We had half pepperoni half cheese pizza with fresh garlic all over! Gosh Darnit! SOOO good man! I ate the whole half and one extra slice of plain slice since girlie girl couldnt finish hers ;)

the pizza is just okay, fried calamari good, and eggplant parm tastes like the eggplant has been frozen too long or at least most definitely like it wasn't made in-house and purchased from a poor quality company. I took 2 bites and could not continue eating it. Overall ridiculously over priced for what they offer.

Quality and value is consistently high. Portions are huge, and as tasty as Carmine's. Best of all, this location takes reservations, so my party of 9 did not have to wait 5 hours or wrestle with the staff to get a table. Thank you Patsy's, you are the best. The penne alla vodka and any of their pizzas are always delicious. Don't skip the giant salads, as they are as fresh as they can be. Yes, you will need a group of someones to share the food with, since everything comes family style.

Sad, what franchising does. The original Patsy's in East Harlem was a divey but fun and decent red sauce joint - 40+ years ago! They got some attention from the nostalgia crowd. Voila: the owners decided to cash out (cannot blame them, at all), and they franchised. The result is a series of chain outposts that are mediocre at best, and often foul, at worst, with high prices, seriously disgusting wines, and pizzas from the freezer. Please avoid at all costs.

THE GREAT BUTTER WARS! I couldn't make this up if I tried. Went with a small group for dinner. They put out bread and olive oil. two people at out table asked the waiter if they could have butter, preferring it over olive oil. The waiter responded that the restaurant had no butter. NO BUTTER! One of the gentlemen questioned this and the waiter again said that there was no butter in the entire restaurant, so he asked for the manager. The manager said that there was butter, but it was the the restaurant's policy no to serve it to customers. NO BUTTER FOR YOU! My friend explained that they would really prefer butter, could she please just put some in a dish for them. She replied that the reason she couldn't was because it would upset the chef. THE CHEF WOULD BE UPSET TO HAVE HAPPY CUSTOMERS!!!! My friend explained nicely that if he didn't get the damn butter he'd write a really bad YELP review. At that point she went and got the butter. The restaurant didn't crumble, the chef didn't explode, and he kept his word. He didn't write the review- I did! By the way, the food was merely passable. Could have used a touch of BUTTER!

Patsy's Pizzeria does not serve pizza by the slice. You can order a small pie for $15.50 or a large for $17.50. Toppings are $2.50 extra with some like Prosciutto di parma being an $3.75 extra. Shared a large pizza with half sausage and half olives. My friend wanted black olives. He told the waitress and she replied that the olives they have are kalamata olives. OK. I'm glad she was so helpful. For those of us who are not olive aficionados, how about telling us what the kalamata olives are? After doing some research, turns out they are the small aubergine colored Greek olives that when brined turn black or dark brown. The pizza came and was placed on its special pizza holder. It is a thin crust pizza, but nowhere is the crispy factor. I can tell the ingredients are fresh, but Patsy's is definitely chintzy on the toppings. The sausage bits were here and there and several pieces of fresh basil were also placed on the pie. You can get a whole bunch of basil for $.99 so to get 5 leaves of basil is really cheap. Not the best tasting pizza and not the worst. I wanted the pizza here to have a better, crispy crust, but not so. The pizza here did a number on my tummy but not as severe as what Gotham Pizza did. The fountain seltzer didn't have enough fizz. One of my friends had the Spaghetti al Pomodoro. It's just spaghetti served with fresh plum tomato sauce. He said the sauce was a bit too sweet. I could tell it was nothing special but just pasta with sauce. They brought out a bread basket and you couldn't cut the rolls with the knife. The rolls were stale. This place has lots of wood touches and tables and is well designed. It has a more family oriented feel and is more like a restaurant than a pizzeria.

I have frequented about 3 Patsy's pizza now and I still LOVE this place. I especially love the pepperoni pizza (best pepperoni in town). I like it thick and crispy which it is. There was also a healthy sprinkle of fresh basil--YUMMY! I liked the ambiance of this place as well as the quick service. Today was the first time I tried the linguiine with seafood and OMG-- mind blowing. I couldn't get enough of the sauce and highly, highly recommend.

What can I say I liked this place especially since my favorite pizza is Margherita and this place makes a mean Margherita Pizza, but the uniqueness comes in with the fact that you can add any topping to it. I was here with a few colleagues and the staff was very attentive and helpful. they also had a decent selection of beers.

Came in. Waited for what felt like an eternity before someone noticed us. ACTUALLY, we said something to them as they walked by us the second time. We split a calzone, which, I dunno how anyone eats solo. It was really good. The pizza also looked really good...the only reason I'd grant this spot a Round 2 is to try it out.

Average pizza, average pasta, and weird service. There's a point where service gets a bit overbearing. This place is very casual by nature, so its easy to feel comfortable, but the atmosphere is very weird. First off, two doors that you can go out of - well its winter, so maybe you should seal off one of the doors. Secondly, where's the heater? We were seated by the entrance and it was freezing, and chilled our food pretty quickly. Server kept asking us how everything was, when we hadn't really even started eating. At one point they removed our plates and I left my fork on there and the server just said "don't you need this?". I mean, you can bring me a new one really quickly right? Not that I'm expecting it, but is it a big deal? And whats the deal with charging me 2 sodas for a refill? I paid $6 for 2 sodas. Most places would give me that refill at no charge, do you need to charge me for that? Especially if you are charging me gratuity for having 7 people, I would hope I can get a free refill. Anyways, ordered the Insalata Siciliana. Pretty good size to share. Only grip were the really overly salty Anchovies, that ruined our palates. Next up, regular ricotta mozzarella pizza with basil, and a family size portion of the carbonara. Pizza was average. Served a bit cold for our liking (maybe the chilled wind helped that out) and pretty average crust and flavor. Nothing to write home about, not bad not great. Cabonara with spinach pasta was fresh and hot, but for some reason everyone agreed it needed more salt. It was also very watery, and however they served it, probably because it was watery, the bacon and peas all were left on the bottom of the serving dish -everyone pretty much got noodles and sauce. IMHO, thicker sauces would bind those ingredients better. Overall, a pretty average experience. I've had better pizza and better pasta. We only paid about $20 per person, so it turned out not too bad on the wallet, but I still can't get over charging me a whole extra soda for refill. I mean, good for margins right?

Oh, Patsy's. I've relished writing this review. Your food was decent, not great. We got a pie and it was good. I didn't notice anything especially wonderful about the cheese or basil or anything that's supposed to add that extra touch. Your service was abysmal. First off, it was 95 fecking degrees the evening we went. First off, this place was rationing water like it was f*cking gold. I get it. Water doesn't make you any money -- but we all ordered drinks and wanted some water to rehydrate. People were practically dying for water. It was also ridiculously hot in the restaurant. Checks literally took 35 minutes to arrive. So, you know what, screw off, Patsy's. I realize my experience, review, and unlikeliness of ever visiting again mean piss-all to your business, but that's where I'm at.

Patsy's Pizza, Chelsea, was the site for our Rehearsal Dinner. There were about 25 of us, and they set up the middle tables into a long row to accommodate our large group. Patsy's offers a variety of options for large group dining - we chose the option with salad, pizza and sodas, so we were able to pick a variety of salads and pizza (up to two toppings per pie). Everyone in the group seemed very pleased with the variety, amount and quality of the food! The service was fast and pleasant. We would definitely recommend Patsy's for large group dining.

Well it was after the 4th fireworks we were hungry for something as American as Apple Pie so we chose Pizza. Good idea..pizza. Bad idea...not right after the show. Luckily, the wait wasn't bad and we managed to snag a table. The place was slammed and the servers looked like they were caught with their pants down. We waited for some time before we even got our orders in but luckily when the pizza came all was forgotten. The pizza was excellent. Not to greasy, the crust was just right and right amount of ingredients on the pizza. Pasty's is always a good stand by for pizza and it never disappoints.

Apparently there are a godzillion of these around the city. Good for them. They've got a few things right, but when ya go franchise, you will be giving some things up. What's good: this is a New York pizza with a foldable, yet crispy crust. What sets it apart from other pies is the oiliness of the crust. This is not a bad thing--it tastes delicious. What's not as good: the sauce is weak, and the toppings look like somebody or something slap-chopped them in the kitchen. What's fine: the cheese. Don't recall anything memorable, but nothing bad. My party visited the Patsy's in Chelsea. Giant space, always a table to sit at. I recall my visit here two or three years ago to be less appealing, but truly, this pizza is good. Not great. Also, our server (or table clearer whoever it is now that so many restaurant assembly-line the service) tried to take away an unfinished plate before she was ready! Basic service fail. When someone has a fork hovering over their plate, which still has food on it, and that person is chewing, THAT PERSON IS NOT DONE EATING. Poor girl probably just moved to the city.

Pretty average and overpriced for NY Pizza. Definitely better out there, especially on the west side.

Probably my favorite NYC chain pizza..which actually says something considering the amount of pizza that is available everywhere. I used to come here somewhat regularly when I lived in the hood, and my workplace now orders from here whenever we're having a pizza craving. Good, standard, NY style brick oven pizza...I have never been disappointed with anything I've gotten. Pricewise, pretty affordable..I think my portion of lunch ends up being around 10 bucks when splitting between everyone at the office? Probably nothing here will surprise or astound you, but if you're looking for solid pizza, this is your place to go.

Tried the tomatoes with mozzarella and had 2 pizza's - pepperoni with mushrooms and the Margherita with anchovies. The tomatoes and mozzarella was good but not sure it was worth what they charged for a large order. The pizzas were good, with a nice thin crust but a little soggy in the center. The anchovies were very salty (I do like anchovies) but the pepperoni with mushroom pie was just right. This Patsy's takes credit cards and the waiter was pleasant. It was not too crowded when we went for dinner.

I came here last night with a friend and we met 4 other people here for a nice family style dinner of 6. When looking at the individual portion prices vs family style prices...agree on the whole meal and go family style. It's a lot of food. So we did a family sized Arugula Salad, Small Sausage Pizza and a family portion of Rigatoni al Bolonese. The place itself was nice - looked like an upscale place, nice bar but only serves wine and beer. The only thing was that it was hot inside. It was nice outside so they opened their front windows, but i was expecting to put some tables outside for people to sit. They didn't, and the heat continued to rise inside where all the tables were. The restaurant started to fill up quickly, but there always seemed to be tables for people, even when a baseball team walked in celebrating a win. (As they chanted, walking into the restaurant) All in all - a nice restaurant, maybe better to go during the winter? ******The Food****** - Arugula Salad - it was good for what it was - the dressing was light and sweet and you can still taste the arugula, as in it wasn't doused in salad dressing which was good. Often restaurants add too much salad dressing and all you taste is dressing...Patsy's did not do that - thus 2 helpings of salad! - Small Sausage Pizza - that was delicious - thin crust, with a generous portion of fresh mozzarella cheese topped off with ground sausage and fresh basil. It was a really great pizza - albeit a little expensive for a small pizza. if you like pizza, this is the type of pizza you'd get. - Rigatoni al Bolonese - aka rigatoni w/meat sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente - some places over do it...others under cook it - this was done perfectly. The meat sauce was thick and kind of heavy. Good for the HEAPING portion you get from the family style platter. So all that food, plus some drinks (not bottles of wine, just a beer, 2 sodas and an iced tea) came out to $110 with tax. tip came to just over 130, so that ended up being $22 per person. Not bad at all considering you potentially will have left overs.

food is great, price is reasonable, service is efficient most of the time and location is perfect for me. Good for large group or just a few people. The wait here is never too long. The pizza is thin-crust, so my personal suggestion is NOT to load the pie with more than 2 topping choices. (one is plenty). I love the spag/meatballs and the arugula salad which is served with honey-balsamic dressing. Yum! My neighborhood "sure-thing" and hardly ever disappointing.

Conflicted about Patsy's... probably 3 stars for their pizzas (considering they call themselves a "pizzeria", i expected better) and 4 for their pasta dishes (penne vodka and rigatoni are awesome). Nice big family-size portions so Patsy's is a good casual cheap place to go if you're hungry (esp for those that don't care about over consumption of carbs) and with a group of other hungry folks. The service is fine but in NYC, I think I'd prefer to go to one of the numerous Italian joints for pizza and pasta... somewhere with more character. Not really much of an interesting scene but you don't come to Patsy's for that... you come here to chow down and leave the place in a food coma!

Took a group here for Saturday lunch. Everything was O.K., but nothing really stood out. The pizza was good, but perhaps a bit soft.

Wonderful brick oven pizza and great service !!! Loved the cheeze on the pizza and little pepperoni topped with bazil leaves. 2 pizzas cost 30 dollars and is enough for 4 people ! The lunch was really great !

Avoid the Linguini Frutti di Mare. I had it for there for dinner, and woke up the next morning with a stomach ache that lasted for two days. Bad seafood, no doubt.

i know 2 stars is a bit harsh, especially for a pizza place that is pretty good ... but there are just SO many pizza places that the standards are higher. the other reason i'm rating so low is because this is just not MY pizza of choice, but others may love it. if you like thin crust pizza that is crispy, slightly burnt, with fresh ingredients, you'll definitely like patsy's. i like crust that is chewier and i do not like the slight burnt taste in every bite. but everything above the crust was great. the atmosphere was nicer than i expected too. very spacious, wood floors, and cozy.

Last night at Patsy's I had what might be the worst pizza I've ever had in NYC. I've lived in NY for over 30 years, and have eaten at most of the highly-rated places in town - John's, De Marco, Lombardi's, Arturo's, Patsy's in E. Harlem, Vinny Vicenz, Joe's, Rosemary's (5 Roses), etc. I know my way around NY pizza. The pizza I had last night was perplexingly bad. No, not bad in a bad-tasting way, bad in an utterly tasteless way. No salt in the crust or sauce, no other flavorings that I could discern in the sauce, a really weird pastiness to the crust despite the good char from the coal oven. I have to say that management was willing to give us another pie, but we saw no point in that. By throwing a fair amount of salt and pepper on the pie, and also some anchovies that we requested, we were able to up the flavor enough to make the pie edible. We also had the arugula salad. It was OK, but only OK. What really got me, was we ended up paying $25 each!! And all we had was one large pie with broccoli and one large salad. No drinks (not even soda's), not anything else. A total rip-off for the quality of pizza. My friend swears that their pizza is usually good, but i will never bother trying when there are so many consistently great places in NY.

patsy's has the BEST insalata siciliana (sicilian salad), arugula salad, and penne a la vodka. the pizza is great too. it's always consistent. the service can be spotty at times but regardless, i can always count on getting a great hearty meal here. i love coming here with large groups so that we can all share family style.

love this restaurant- great pizza w/ fresh mozzarella and tasty sauce (not too much). Great for families or bigger parties. Go here when you you're most after a good meal. We order in a lot from here, but in service is simple and efficient, go for the arugula salad - delectable homemade dressing w/ a bit of honey...

Very good pizza. Nice thin crust that's not too crunchy, flavorful sauce, good cheese. If this wasn't in New York, it would definitely get at least 4 stars, but with so much great pizza available in the city, it's respectable, but decidedly middle of the road. Overall, I would come back if I were in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it!

I am currently sitting at the bar waiting for my party to arrive. I asked if I could take my laptop out to work in the meantime. They were very accommodating and made me feel very welcome despite the restaurant's family atmosphere. Perhaps I have spent too much time in the country as of late and have become acustomed to a lower standard in bartending service but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bartender is both engaging and very quick at her job. Everything is poured properly and I am more than content. I will update this review as soon as I leave and go home later tonight.

Here since 1933 or something like that? Sounds like a long time and with a pizzeria called Patsy's it seems like an odd combination. I had the Caprese salad to start which was good and came with the largest lump of Pesto I have ever seen with a salad. The main entree was a simple pizza which was an okay average at best. Service was good as we needed to eat quick and everything came together as needed to get us out in the time needed.
